PCB design in your browser

PCB Design Studio turns a circuit into a two-layer printed circuit board. The board’s connections come from the circuit, so the ratsnest is always right; place the parts, route the tracks by hand or with the autorouter, fix what the live design rule checks report and export the files a board house needs.

From circuit to board

Start from a Circuit Studio design or from scratch: a new board gets its own circuit, and parts and connections added in the PCB studio go into it. Templates include finished boards such as an Arduino Uno traffic light shield.

Routing and checks

  • Interactive 45° routing that walks around other copper, with vias and layer switching
  • A two-layer autorouter that keeps only rule-clean routes
  • Ground fills, mounting holes and silkscreen text
  • Live design rule checks for shorts, clearance, board edge, drills, annular rings, unrouted nets and overlaps
  • Net highlighting, a command palette and undo

Manufacturing files you can trust

One click gives a zip a board house accepts. The outputs are checked with an independent Gerber reader, and the KiCad export opens in KiCad 7 with matching pads and nets and no rule faults.

  • Gerber X2 copper, solder mask, silkscreen and outline
  • Excellon plated and non-plated drill files
  • Bill of materials and pick-and-place CSV
  • A KiCad 7 project with footprints, nets, tracks, vias and zones, to carry on in KiCad
  • A 3D preview of the board before you order

Footprints with sources

Every footprint records the datasheet or standard it came from, and footprints not yet checked by a person are flagged, so you know what to verify before ordering.

Questions

How many layers?

Two copper layers, top and bottom.

Can I move my board to KiCad?

Yes. PCB Design Studio exports a KiCad 7 project with the footprints, nets, tracks, vias, holes, text and copper fills.

Can I send the files to any manufacturer?

Gerber X2 and Excellon are the standard formats board houses accept. Check the manufacturer’s own rules for track width, clearance and drill sizes before ordering.
